Advice please

DD currently has cabriofix and i always have the shade bit over her. I took it off for first time in ages today and her head is really really near the top of the seat! She is 9.5kg too so im now panicked in looking for a new car seat which i thought i would have ages to sort.

So i would like ERF but seat will be in an out of mine and my partners cars, one has isofix and other doesnt. Also one car is a bloody 2 door! Ive never even seen a stage 1 car seat up close especially ERF. Do they rotate so you can get the child strapped in without doing gymnastics?

Anyone had similar car situ who can advise what they settled on? My brain is melting looking at all the options and they are apparently limited for ERF haha!

Also DD is only 6 months old so I would like to go for a 9kg - 25kg rather than 18kg to ensure she doesnt outgrow it before 2/3.

We got a Kiddy infinity which is a very safe forward facing one with a bumper bar type thing rather than a 5 point harness. It is very lightweight and easy to swap between cars.

PS at 6 months she is going to be too young for a stage 1 anyway. I believe they need to be 12 months minimum but sokeone else should be able to verify?

Ah yes i hope someone does come along as if thats correct what the hell do i do in the meantime i thought it was 9kg upwards for stage 1.

Thanks for your recommendation though. Im holding out for ERF but interesting to see there are different types of forward facing seats.

We have a Britax Two Way Elite here that we got when DD was 13 months. It's ERF but not isofix (use the seatbelt and tethers to hold it in place). DD was rear facing until 4.2 years and still uses the seat FF now. TWE have tall backs and don't take up that much space (for ERF seats). You can also use the harness until they're 25 kg.

Group 1 is technically 9kg and over (the age guide is 9 months to 4 years but it's the weight that counts)

I cant view profiles on kindlefire (didnt know profiles even existed til someone mentioned on another thread today) but will check on laptop and probably bombard you with more questions then . I still dont understand how you can get a baby strapped into RF seat without it rotating a bit at least!

We had a RF Britax Multitech and to get a child in with a two-door car would be quite difficult particularly as she's so young and can't help by clambering in. You'd have to climb in on the opposite side of the car whilst carrying her!

I second onetwothreefourfive in saying it's not the quickest/easiest seat to move between cars as well. DD also used to complain of a sore bottom on long journeys as it's not particularly padded.

I moved DD into a Kiddy GuardianPro at 3.3 because DS needed the RF one but moved him into a Kiddy at 2.6 (he was actually heavier than DD despite being younger when moved). The Kiddy seat is much more user friendly (I don't have the Isofix version) as you can just lift it in and out. I was dubious about going forward facing but it has the padded bar to hold them in and the five point harness on other seats was my biggest concern so in the end it was a compromise I was prepared to make.
