Advice on Baby Weavers Opus SP Car Seat please...

My son is 8.5 months so I'm starting to look at what car seat to buy next. We are planning to buy two (one for me and one for hubby) and so we don't want to spend a fortune but obviously want a safe seat.

I have found the Baby Weavers Opus SP Car Seat and the reviews look really good but I have read a couple that say about it not being suitable for a 9 month old as it doesn't recline.
Has anyone else got one of these and used for a baby rather than a toddler?
Would be grateful for any advice before I order two and find that they are no good!

I would only use this seat as a second seat in a car that they were only going to go in when they were going to be awake. You also need to check it fits your car. I also wouldn't use it in the hight back booster mode as it doesn't put the belt in the best place to fit the comfortably and safely. If that is about the budget I would get a Britax prince or Britax eclipse. Which ever one fits your cars the best. A seat need to fit your car and also needs to be comfortable and easy to use for the parents. Having a one pull harness makes it much easier to pull the harness tight when you have put your child in.

I wouldnt move my child forward facing at that age either. An infant carrier lasts longer than most parents use it for. If its a case of you need two because of geography and childcare borrow one of a trusted friend instead.

The babyweavers seats are made by team tex. Very low quality and meet basic standards only.No metal casing. I wouldnt use one at all.

If I had to FF my child I would look at the new Joie stages (now RF to 18kg) or a Britax first class ( as long as it fitted cars both ways) I would aim to keep them RF in those seats for as long as possible and then possibly FF when weight limit reached

If money is the issue then ask for money for birthdays and christmas. We had second hand toys and clothes because we are skint too but car seats are really worth investing in.
