Rear facing Group 1 carseat for Golf

DS is not even 4 months old and is starting to get too big for his infant car seat (which goes up to 9kg). Need to start looking for a next stage car seat and I know it's best to continue to use a rear facing seat. Getting a bit stuck!

Any suggestions of 9kg+ carseat that is rear-facing, fits in a Golf, no isofix??!

Hi,I had a britax two way elite, a KISS and a britax hi-way. All fitted fine. out of the three I like the two way elite best. Smile

The axkid also fitted well according to photos on securatots fb page.

Are you sure his infant carrier is only til 9kg?

Sorry I got confused, it's till 9 months or 13kg. DS is a big boy though and will be way way too long for it by 13kg.

Thank you for the recommendations!

TWE all the way... Love mine

Have you taken out the infant insert? Unless your DS is off the charts size wise it seems really strange he's getting too big for the infant car seat already! And 9 months is a minimum age, not a max.
We have a Britax Max way in our Mondeo and love it, it is so secure and feels so fixed in the car that it is really reassuring.

We have two way elite too.

Two way elite here, and BeSafe Izi combi as well but that is isofix.

I can sympathise, DS moved out of his infant carrier at just gone 6 months. Not because he was too big by height or weight but because the straps just didn't fit round him. Not sure if it was the car seat we got or because he was just big (98th centile) but it was a pain.

Good luck!

""Hi,I had a britax two way elite, a KISS and a britax hi-way. All fitted fine. out of the three I like the two way elite best.""

I would not recommend this seat for such a small child. It´s way too big and way too wide.

Zara
If it is the feet begining to touch the backseat, don´worry about it. That´s not a safety concern at all, and the LO is not too big for the seat then. It is top of head reach top of carseat or weight limit reached - whichever comes first.

If this seat is only 9 kg, you would want to check the approval sticker on the seat.

If it is not ECE R 44/03 or ECE R 44/04 then it is too old and nolonger legal to use.

Infant seats today go to 13 kg.

I have seen the Besafe in an old Golf 1994. The front seat has to go allmost all the way forward. The same thing goes for the Maxway, and I assume the Axkid seats too.
