We have 3 proper car seats in the back of our car. I have been looking at the TWE as it seems to give the best value for money, be easy to fit and move between cars etc.

I was hoping to fit it it the middle seat. If we did that though I presume that both front seats have to be reclined exactly the same angle and also be the same distance from the dashboard?

Also if you have a TWE or have seen one do you like it and does it seem substantial? The sides don't seem as high and padded as some if its chunkier rivals.

We have two 2 way elites - one is now forward facing as dc2 has ougrown it in rear facing mode.

IT's a great seat, very solid and secure.

You won't be able to tether it rear facing in a middle seat though, so I'm assuming you want to put it forward facing?

No I meant rear facing. We have a sharan so there is a proper seat and belt.

I assume you mean it's not possible as it would have nothing to lean on properly?

Good to hear it feels secure though. I guess we'll just put it behind driver side.

Oh just read again sorry it's the tether that would be the problem.

You can tether it, we were told anyway. Haven't tried it yet. The tethers would be one to each seat so they'd have to be the same distance.

Yes you can tether one to each seat.

we had one in the middle of our volvo.

yes, you do need to make sure the front seats are pretty much the same so that it braces evenly. This caused us MASSIVE issues in the volvo which "cleverly" Hmm adjusts the drivers seat depending on which key you put in the bloody ignition.

It was far easier to fit in my parent's renault scenic, and we currently have it in the middle in our vw caddy maxi life.

you just put one tether on each of the front seats

Are you and your partner of equal height so the driver's seat doesn't need to be moved forward and backwards? I have a TWE (personally the straps drive me BARMY as they twist constantly and I hate the bloody things) and have it on the passenger side for this reason.
