Car seat for huge 24m old

DS is 37lb and 100cm tall. He's big enough for a HBB but is he old enough? Does size come before age. He's about to breach the weight limit for his Maxi Cosi Opal.

Look at extended rear facing seats.. dd1 has a triofix and she is 3 with plenty of room left. You can ring the milton keynes incar safety centre, or the essex road safety team for independent advice. You can (& I do) keep them rf for much longer, and rf is the safest way to travel. I wouldnt put a 2 year old in a seat without a 5 point harness whatever their size.

This seat harnesses up to 25kg both forward and rear facing.
