Asda £25 car seat?

MIL getting one for the days she'll have DD when I go back to work - DD will then be 12mo.

Anyone have any experience/reviews on these? Or a link? I'm struggling to find it online....

We've got one and dd seems perfectly fine in it, be careful you don't lose the little red clips from the back though, they seem very flimsy and have disappeared a couple of times from ours, also if you get it delivered it comes in a HUGE box which dd loves and we've painted to look like a house

Firstly I wouldnt forward face a one year old. I also wouldnt get any naina/babystart/kidicare own brand seat. They arent very sturdy only meet basic safety standard and you cant be sure that the seat is a good fit in your car.

I would keep in infant seat for as long as possible and then spend more on a ERF or an impact shield seat if you want to forward face.

Thanks though DD's head is almost at the top now and I'm worried about the GPs trying to lift her in the existing seat as she and it are so heavy!!

Will do some more research but it's likely she'll only be out in the car with the GPs every 6 weeks or so, so understandably they don't want to spend a fortune (obv DDs safety is the main priority though)!

We got a really cheap high back booster and regretted it when I read it was the Which worst buy! It has very limited side impact protection. It's in GP's car for very short drives through town.

The infant carrier can be left in car and child put in and then strapped in.

If shes only in their car occassionaly then transfer seat you get into theirs. As least it will be a safer model

Yes. Only prob is that DH uses the car for work most days so likely I'll be walking round to GPs. I guess perhaps we'll just time it do I've got the car, or better yet, DH does the drop-offs!

My childminder had one when DS was younger. I didn't like it at all - it always looked wonky in the car (so not securely fitted - her other seats looked fine so I suspect difficult to fit) and the straps tighten strangely too.

All car seats sold in the UK have to conform to standards which say that the seat's been tested in a 30MPH frontal impact, so if they're only likely to be doing short, local journeys and they live in a built up area any car seat will be fine and I wouldn't worry (well, apart from the fact the side impact also looks rubbish) but if they regularly drive on roads with a higher speed limit, I'd look at getting a sturdier car seat.

How about a Britax Eclipse, or the Prince is on kiddicare and amazon at the moment for £56.

Or the Britax First Class is a very good seat which has multiple fitting options (for older cars) and can be rear facing until she hits 13kg and then FF. It's usually around £100 if you shop around.
