Why Doesn't He Fit?

DS is 6 months old and about 17lbs. We bought a Graco travel system when he was born, and the car seat is supposed to go up to 29lb. However, DS now appears too long for it. It's a rear facing one and his feet currently stick out of the end of the car seat and rest on the back of the passenger seat.

I have taken the head support out and put the seatbelts on what appesr to be the highest setting but it doesn't help? Is there something else I should do that I haven't spotted or do I just have a very lanky baby?

It happens with all rear facing infant car seats and is perfectly normal. My DD stayed in her maxi cosi seat until 13 kgs, she's is above top centile for height. Never caused her any discomfort! If your DS isn't unhappy with the situation, then I wouldn't worry!

Hi
Feet sticking out bottom isnt an issue, legs can fold into frog position. You need to worry when head sticks over the top of the car seat.

His feet wont be uncomfortable like that. I used my maxicosi newborn car seat for my DD when she was 16months old on a holiday, legs were folded but importantly her head was still inside the seat (and she was within wt limit) and it meant we could rear face her in rental car rather than lugging our v heavy RF seat with us.

Further to Milky's post, even if he is unhappy with it, please dont turn him around yet....He is way too little
