Thanks for the help so far, I have another question now!
I have been to a local retailer which has the besafe combi isofix in stock and it fitted nicely in my car.
What I need to know is, how much better is the isofix version than the belted one - is it worth the extra money?

Isofix is isofix only or belted forward facing.

Belted need tethers isofix don't.

Personally I would buy belted with extra tether for any second car.

I don't think the besafe izi combi belted needs tethers - it has a leg instead Confused

We have two Of the isofix versions. I like the fact that's it's hard to fit it wrongly Grin Having said that, we've currently got the forward facing in a different car, so they're belted. It isn't hard to belt them right, I just trust the isofix more than the belt.

I think it's a fab seat whichever version you go for. Just for me, the isofix was worth the extra money.

How often will you move it from one car to another? If its something you're going to be doing often and/or bleary-eyed on your way to work, then go for the isofix if you can afford it.

Just checked and yes the belted does definately needs tethers.

I think we're confusing two seats!

The izi combi non-isofix needs tethers, but if you use the izi combi isofix seat forward facing and secured with the seat belt, you definately don't need tethers.

So, isofix version - isofix rear facing, seat belt with no tethers forward facing. Non-isofix version - tethers and belt rear facing, belt only (?) when forward facing?
