I have a mini cooper. We went for the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix seat with the Easyfix base. The base makes it really easy to get the seat in and out of the car. If you've got isofix, the base attaches easily, if you don't have isofix, you can install the base with the seatbelt.

The frame for the iCandy Cherry fits in the boot. You can get clips that attach the car seat to the iCandy frame, otherwise the rest of the iCandy (carry cot or seat unit) fit behind the drivers seat.

I had a mini when my DD was born. It was tough then finding a pram that fits
We went for a bugaboo bee which fits the boot perfectly with the seat unit attached. Assuming you dont have any extra AV kit like CD changers in there.

Though the new bugaboo bee+ is slightly bigger (I think) so might not fit so easily- definately worth a check.

The car seat was the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix seat with the Easyfix base as mentioned by Nancerama

Not sure where you live by A3 baby barn near kingston, off the A3 let us try the folded prams in the car, right outside the shop.

Nancerama and Gingerbreadlatte- what year is your mini as I am not sure if mine (2004 cooper) has isofix for not? Did you have it in the front seat (airbag off) or the back seat?

Mine's a 2011. The isofix points are plastic boxes/flaps set in the back seat.

If you get the Easyfix base, you can install it with a seatbelt or isofix - Kiddicare have videos on YouTube showing how the base is installed.

Gingerbreadlatte · 30/07/2012 07:08

Mine was 2002 and had no isofix. You also couldnt turn airbag off- I spoke to garage many time about it and they said it just wasnt possible in the old models.

I just used easy base for my cabrio fix. The easy base one without isofix. Fix it with a seatbelt and its solid.

Babybarn is worth the visit but its gets really busy at weekends- worth getting over in the week if you can.
