Tall DH + extended rear facing - what do you drive?

We are looking at getting a newer car and desperately need advice on how others have solved the combination of a tall DH and kids who are extended rear-facing.

We currently have an 01 plate Focus, and DD (almost 2.6) is in a Britax TWE. I'm keen that any future child would also be Extended Rear Facing. DH is six foot six, and so at the moment we have DD in the rear pasenger seat in a TWE, with the front passenger seat fully forward to accommodate the car seat.

This means DH no longer fits inthe front passenger seat so if I drive, he sits in the back.

We're keen that our next car will have better rear legroom so that DH can sit in the front if he's not driving.

So, your car recommendations please! Smile

DH isn't as tall as your DH (6'2") but we have had no problems with a TWE in a Mazda Premacy and our current car is a Caddy Maxi Life and DH has a Hi-Way II behind him at the moment (it's in the middle of the middle row) again with no problems.

Is the TWE reclined or upright? You may find at 2.6y your DD doesn't need it reclined and you can get more legroom that way.

A friend of ours has the TWE in a 2009 VW Passat estate. Her DH is about 6'3ish (at a guess) and he looks to have plenty of room in the passenger seat.

Skoda Superb is about as big as it gets for front & back legroom.
