With DD1 we had a lie flat car seat which was great. We were planning to use it again with DD2 but have discovered that with DD1's current car seat it won't fit in the back of the car.

So we're going to have to buy a new car seat for DD2. We have no idea which is best as we've only looked at the lie flat ones before.

We want something that is well padded/comfy, easy to fit (with isofix or belt fitting), safe and goes as flat as possible, reasonable price (will pay more if lasts longer but doesn't have to cover more than newborn stage).

Suggestions/advice would be really appreciated!

A graco or britax one is bigger than a maxi cosi so baby can stay rearfacing for longer.

Our Cabriofix is dead easy to take in and out as we have an isofix base. DD seems very comfortable in it.

You could also consider the Besafe Izi Go or Izi Sleep which meet very high crash test standards. The Sleep will lie flat.

I have measured the Britax Baby Safe SHR II and the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix - the seat back on the Britax is 20" and the the Cabrio Fix is 16" - the Britax will last a lot longer (you have to have 1" of seat back above baby's head - the leg room is irrelevant luckily!)

Truth - now I understand why my eldest grew out of his Cabrio Fix so much sooner than now seems feasible looking back and how people keep saying their toddlers still fit in the infant seat etc. I'm using a Baby-Safe this time and I didn't see how he could possibly have been that long at 8.5 months.. and he wasn't! Mystery solved.

One of the many reasons why I measure stuff - enquiring minds need to know Wink

The pebble is quit hard to get fully flat. Possibly to do with the family fix base. The cabriofix was easier to recline I think.
