So I hadnt thought about carseats til now... And it turns out I need 2 new seats from reading a bit on here.
I have a 8 month old, 9.7 kilo baby who is in her maxicosi seat. So I'll keep her in it til she is 13 kilos (or whatever the weight limit is).
My son is 3 and weighs 17 kilos (maybe more now) and is (I am now ashamed to say having read on here) in the cheapest lightest Britax we could find. We bought it when we didnt own a car just for occasional use in hire cars etc and it needed to be light as was stored in a high cupboard in our tiny flat...).
So I think he needs the next stage of carseat. A booster? And I should start thinking about what to buy for our baby once she is beyond the maxicosi and disposing of the cheap one.
Our car is an old audi A3.
I had assumed that if a car seat passed the safety tests then they were all fine but I think that was wrong of me...... I never really put any thought to this as all my car seat buying came before owning a car! ANY ADVICE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED. THANK YOU
