Help ! Best Car for 3 FF car seats in the back ?

My big picasso has been written off and I'm trying to work out what is best to get instead, but the courtesy car is going and I need to get something else quickly.

I would rather not go to a having another big MPV, but I do need to have 3 car seats in the back. Currently I have a chunky group 1 seat, a chunk Britax 1-2-3 and a slimmer group 2 seat that I need to fit in safely.

What's the smallest, and cheapest to run, hatchback that would work with this arrangement ?

I wouldn't say cheap but we have a grand C4 picasso and it is easily fits 3 full size car seats across the back row and then has a very decent boot.

Anything with 3 fullsize seats, like a picasso, honda FR-V, galaxy/S-max.

Would it actually be cheaper to buy a smaller car and swap your FF group 1 for a RF group 1? Or even buy a narrower FF seat than the Britax 1-2-3? It is cheaper to buy a new car seat than a bigger car often Wink.

Are you anywhere near Essex? They have a road safety centre with samples of practically every car seat on the market and are great abotu trying out combos without any pressure to buy (as they're not selling anything!).

Nowhere near Essex... couldn't be a lot further away in fact...

I am kind of looking for a smaller sort of thing... I know I can squeeze all three seats in Hyundai Getz for example, and I am wondering if there are any other smaller cars that people have managed to make work....

Looked round garages today and saw VW Golfs and Polos but not sure if it would fit, also considering a Meriva or a C-Max for bigger..

So is there anyone out there making a smaller hatchback work with 3 ?

hi, i have a vw golf and had 2 erf seats in the back, and a baby seat or a hbb.

i had a KISS in behind the passenger, a britax twe in the middle and a cabrio or maxi cosi rodi in behind the driver. i found i had enough boot space for a big pram too as well as all the other essentials Wink that children require! or an umbrella fold double buggy. i only changed as i was having another baby and needed more seats.

:)
