Car seat packaging - is this ok?

I ordered a new maxicosi cabriofix from John Lewis for DC2 which was delivered last week. It came just in a fairly flimsy cardboard box (not a maxi cosi one) and the car seat was inside in a plastic bag. It has tags etc attached but I am just a bit concerned that I have no idea whether it has been dropped, thrown etc in transit with really no protection by way of bubble wrap or polysterene etc.

Is it normal for them to come like this? I can't remember what the one was like when we got it for DC1.

TIA
