We're looking for a new car seat for DS. Group 1 and upwards. Must be rear facing. Preferably not to hard to install/uninstall as it will be moved between cars. Needs to fit in the back seat of a Volvo V40. Any suggestions?

Our local baby safety store recommends the Maxi-Cosi Mobi, or the Britax Hi-Way II. They say the Two Way is just the newer model of the Hi-Way.

We tried both in the car, and har real difficulty installing them properly in the middle seat. Behind the passenger seat, the passenger seat was so far forwards, it's not realistic to expect an adult to travel there.

Anyone else have a V40, and if so, any suggestion?

hi, i have had my seats the two way elite and Kiss in a s40 and the twe, and hi-way in a v50. the twe probably gives more room in the front when installed behind the passenger. you could look at the volvo seat which is a multitech.

i don't know for sure but have the twe and hi-way and would guess that the hi-way is a newer model.

:)

Thanks nicm. Have looked again, and it's the "Max-Way" that's taking over from the Hi-Way. My mistake.

Will have to go and try the Two Way, but it doesn't seem, from the look of it, to be a good fit for such a little child.

Sigh. No easy solution in sight...

The Volvo combination seat for group 1 is in fact the Britax Multi-tech (and about £100 cheaper if bought from Volvo) If you buy a second set of tether straps to leave attached to each car moving the seat between cars will be a doddle

We have a V40 and have the Britax Multitech (which we use behind the front passenger seat). It's cramped for the adult passenger, but not unbearable. I'm really selling it well, aren't I!!! DS is very comfy though, and we don't do very long journeys as a rule.

the two way elite is a great chair!
i think a lot of people dismiss it as it looks quite shallow and weird. we have one and we have a besafe izi combi and actually the TWE is my favoured seat!

we have them in a V70 and have tons of room for both.

the two-way elite is also ridiculously easy to install/uninstall
