Britax Baby-safe with Maxi-Cosi base?

We were given the Easyfix base before DD was born as relatives hardly used it. We have ended up with a Britax travel system - are all Isofix components interchangeable? I.e. could we use the Birtax car seat with the Maxi-Cosi base?

Thank you!

I dont think you can mix between brands as the bits that fix the car seat to the base will be different

Just to clear one thing up, isofix isn't the part that attaches the seat to the base, it's the two bits (usually yellow) that stick out the back of the base and attach to the frame of the car through the gap at the bottom of the seat of the car iyswim.

Anyway, I have often wondered whether the britax car seat would attach to the maxi cosi base. I know that several car seats do. And the metal bars at the bottom look very similar on both the maxi cosi and britax seats.

Do you have the britax car seat then? Can you just try putting it on the base to see if it fits? What I would check is whether it is allowed by the maunfacturers. If it isn't it will be likely to invalidate any warranty you have as it may not have been safety checked.

You can't interchange them. You could try it and it might click on but it would not have been tested on that base which is far too much of a risk. It would invalidate any warranty on your child seat.

Last thing, the maxi cosi pebble fits onto easybase and family fix but it won't go anywhere near the easyfix base! Yet the cabrio fits all 3! As they look identical on the bottom and are the same brand you would have thought it would be ok.

Have you bought a Britax carseat? If you haven't, get a Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix/Citi instead. You can attach Maxi-Cosi carseats to Britax pushchairs using Babystyle Oyster Maxi-Cosi adapters.
