Not 2nd hand - even bases?

Just want to check...

We got a britax seat free with the double pushchair and I'd like to use it when DC2 come along. We've now got a car with isofix points, so I thought I'd get an isofix base.

Is it the same as seats though? Should I not get a 2nd hand one?

Still not 2nd hand with the base - they can be damaged in the same way as a car seat in a crash and are subject to the same plastic degredation that happens to car seats.

Ok, thanks. I'll start saving for a new one then (after I've bought DS's stage 1 RF - eek)
