I had one in a Ford Focus. It wasn't the best fit, but was ok.

a volvo v70

We have 2 iso fix; is the space taken up not the same?

In case it's any help

1 x Clio
1 x BMW 3 series estate

might be a seatbelt length issue?

LadyBeckenham · 16/11/2011 17:17

Ah, being an ISOfix family I hadn't considered that!

lampli · 16/11/2011 18:43

Thank you everybody. Thisisyesterday is yours non-isofix? Volvos have quite short belts I think, or at least they used to.

yes, it's the belted version and the seatbelt is just long enough (has maybe 2 inches of slack left in it when fitted!)

are you thinking of buying a car to go with the seat?

if so i think anything from 2006 onwards should have isofix as standard. only remember that because ours is only a teeny bit older. dammit!

lampli · 16/11/2011 19:21

No, I'm not exactly thinking of buying a car to go with the seat, but I just wanted to get an idea of whether it will fit in different cars. DC is almost out of the seat but not really mature enough to go into a HBB so he will have to stay in it for another few months OR I will need to fork out for a new one.

Sorry, posted too early. I just remember what a rigmarole it was buying the seat in the first place and I am not really looking forward to going through it all again, so I am trying to reassure myself that it may fit in future cars. I would have preferred isofix in the first place but couldn't get it due to underfloor storage.

More Volvo questions! In which seat do you have the Izi installed, and which other seats do you have in the car, if any?

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 16/11/2011 20:08

ahh ok.
we have it behind the passenger seat, then we have a britax 2 way elite in the middle, and a britax adventure behind the drivers seat.

Thank you! That is incredibly helpful. I wish I had got the TWE in the first place. It was the only other rear facer to fit my car and I got the Izi because I naively thought that subsequent DCs would be of similar build and height to the first one, who is tiny.

no probs. fwiw we moved ds2 from the besafe into the 2 way elite when he was about 2 and a half, bit over maybe. because his head was getting quite near the top of the seat.

he is 4 now and he sat in it the other day and his head is still only just level with the top of the seat! i guess all the growing he has done has been in his legs rather than in his body lol
