hi, i know this has probably been posted a trillion times on here, but i am about to buy DS a new car seat and im insanely confused.

have a friend who sends me links to crash test videos and scares me, but my knowledge goes as far as thinking maxi cosi and britax are the safest?

anyone wanna correct me? i have been looking at the kiddy pro or something with the padded thing instead of a harness, and while it looks cool and says its safe, i cant find pics of it in a car with the belt on, so cant figure out how it works...

also i want one with some sort of head rest thingy inside the actual seat (like on the opal etc) as it looks much more comfortable, aslo with recline etc...

budget not really and issue as family are paying for DS's birthday present.

please advise me!

I think the Pallas came joint first with kiddy energy pro on the German and Swiss tests. Do try the kiddy-v easy to FIC and lover by DS.

I think someone on here said they had a kiddy one and a cybex pallas one, and they preferred the kiddy, because the belt holder thing was easier to use and tighten the belt with. Slightly cheaper too :) But definitely go to a JL or M&P store to try one of the two out.

WelshCat · 24/06/2011 22:55

yeah gonna go try them both out. im all for the cushion thing over the harness, every single child i know can get its arms out of the harness, which makes it pretty much useless in a crash.

Welsh,
Just wanted to re-iterate that in the Kiddy they cannot kick the cushion out - unless it hasn't been put on properly. There is no way either of mine could ever escape from the seat - but I know plenty of people whose children could take their car seat straps off!

Halfords defo don't do the Elite, maybe it was the evolva he showed you? I wouldn't recommend that one though as it's a pain in the ass to fit and not great for young kids as the recline is rubbish. Defo go with a ERF, The Britax multi-tech seems to be a good one!
