cheapest group 1 carseat...

My mum is buying us a more expensive 1-2-3 carseat, but we want a cheap group 1 carseat that is easy to move from car to car (so not isofix I assume?) for if anyone is looking after DS for us.
(I dont mind if its a 1-2/3 as well, just figured that 1 only would be cheaper)

Are you sure you want to just get the cheapest though? I'm not sure about the safety of any of these at all.

I've found a half price Beline P Plus that has good reviews, I think I'm gonna go with that. Re the safety, I assumed that all carseats would have to be safe to be sold?

sadly its not a case of all carseats are as safe as each other,
i remember reading (when i was looking for one for my dd) they only legally have to restrain a child in a 30mph frontal crash to pass the safety tests,they dont even legally need to have side impact protection. i would do some research before you buy one, you also need to make sure it will fit the cars you will be using safely as well. the kiddy comfort seats get fab safety reviews and are really easy to move between cars,they also fit in most cars due to the fact they use the impact cushion.

The Kiddy would be perfect in terms of being safe and easy to move but they're usually at least £120. There's a clearance place in Birmingham you could get one for £89 if you live nearby.
I would have a look at the crash test of it if you can find it. Some of them are horrifying. I've just spent £350 (instead of about £600!) on two really safe carseats after looking at too many crash tests!

Halfords have the Britax Prince for £59.99, and a Tiziano Bellelli for £65-ish, the Tiziano is better as it reclines in the base where as with the prince the whole seat reclines, I wouldn't bother with the own-brand cheap makes eg, Halfords Pampero the build quality is terrible, the harnesses are a bit of a joke and the material is really sweaty.

Also, if you need a seat that will fit mulitple cars the Britax first Class has 2 routing systems for the seatbelt to avoid buckle crunch, (£109.99 online at halfords) The Britax Evolva is also good to avoid buckle crunch and is about £100 for the felix colour in halfords atm, haven't seen what other suppliers have got though so may be able to get it cheaper!

Very important to learn how to fit the seat properly :)

i wouldnt reccommend the britax evolva if you need to move it often between cars,its PITA to fit in comparison to most seats,and it needs a pretty long seatbelt to fit it, if it stays in one car all the time,its a fab seat :)

lol,glad im not the only one who thinks that,maybe easier if you have long seatbelts,but with ours ou had to pull the belt really tight,just to get it to clip in! even though it went around our cabrio no problems!
