Graco ece r44 03 Car seat

Hi

Does anyone have a copy of the user manual for the Graco ece r44 03 universal rear facing car seat. I have been given one by a friend and she can't find the manual and I need some instructions to fit the base into our car. Any help would be much appreciated. I have done a online search and can't seem to find one on any of the free manual sites

ece r44 03 is the standard that the seat has been tested to. It is the old standard, the current one is ece r44 04.

How old is the seat? It should say on the seat shell (the plastic part of the seat) the date of manufacture (either a series of clockface dials or a grid with 'pips' that indicate the DOM [the last pip is the DOM]). If it is 5 years or old I would be very wary of using the seat. If it is over 10 years old DO NOT USE under any circumstances as it is dangerous.

Is there anything else printed on the seat?

thanks for the info, as far as I know the seat is about 3 years old but I will double check with my friend as not sure if she got it new or 2nd hand at the time.

Is it one of these seats?

If it is 4 years old AND is undamaged (check straps for fraying and plastic for wear/stress marks) AND you find a copy of the manual AND it fits in your car then I can't see any reason not to use the seat. I am assuming you trust your friend not to lie to you about an accident

So you need the manual for the base and not the carseat?

I'd imagine you need both. On the link I sent previously, if you click on the seat you can download the manual (it's on the section just below the video).

we had an autobaby carseat 5 yrs ago for our dd,it was fab,
im assuming it is the same?
the base was really easy to fit,you just put the leg down into the footwell, put the seatbelt through the guides, clip in and pull (i used to have to stand on the actual base while tightening the belt to get it tight enough. then once the belt is tight adjust the height of the leg so the wee green/red level indicator is in the correct place.
the seat basically clips in,just sit it on the base and push down,to lift it off theres a button behind the hood which you press and lift the seat up :)

yes just need to know how to fit the base as the car seat clips directly into the base.
