I was all prepared in buying this car seat as its rear facing which is recommended as the safest way of travelling. And its supposed to be a very safe car seat having had lots of safety tests. Its got great reviews on this website too. But having read the product description again its only suitable for children 6+ months onwards :(. What am i going to use for my newborn when she arrives in June? Arghh!!

We have this car seat for DD, she went into it at 7mo. She was in a Britax lie flat sleeper before that.

I thought they were 6+ months because they're quite upright, however seeing how upright my friend's maxi cosi infant carrier sits, I couldn't see that there's a vast amount of difference. Can't comment personally as I've got no comparison really, and I'm fully prepared to stand corrected by anyone who has personal experience of both.

The BeSafe is recommended from 9kg and 6 months - we've just bought one for DS who is 16 weeks, 'cause he's 19lbs already, but he won't use it until his head reaches the top of hid maxi cosi. You'll need some sort of infant car seat for the first few months. Hopefully your DC won't grow so quickly, as infant seats are the best things for little babies.

All Besafe rearfacing seats are from 0-18 kg. But really they shouldn´t be used from birth.

Have you got any pals / friends / family / colleagues who you could borrow a good seat from for those first 6 months?
