Hi
I'm totally confused, things seem to have changed since my DS (5 yrs old).
My DD is 2yrs 3m, shes in a forward facing car seat (didnt know u could get rear ones)
shes a big girl, very tall and well built (not fat as some rude woman in tesco implied).
The car seat she is in (some mammas n pappas one) is a 9m to ?? 3 or 4 is it? one.
It goes up to her ears. Should I move her in to booster one now?
A graco junior maxi to be exact - but their guideline says 4yrs +

if her ears are level with the back of the seat she needs a bigger one

they go on weight rather than age.

Personally I would not put a child of her age into a highback booster though, I just don't think it's safe eough.

You need to know how much she weighs really

Hi Flojo,
I thought with car seats usually there is a weight range specified and the age is just a guide? So eg a high back booster is suitable from 15kg whereas a Group 1 car seat (which I guess is what you have) is generally suitable for up to 18kg so that there is some overlap for different builds within that age range.
So, is she under 15kg but tall and therefore growing out of it lengthways or is she over 15kg? 2yrs 3 months does seem young to be moving up a car seat (generally between 3 and 4) but then my children are both small.

Hi, I think she might be around the weigh line as it is but getting a 2 yr old to stand still on scales is not gonna be easy!
I had a look just now on halfords website and I see they do seats from 9months - 12 yrs, which kinda grow with the child so I'm thinking this might be a better option and store the graco one for friends etc when older.

flojo, you will still need to know her weight

seats like the britax evolva 1-2-3 are harnessed highback boosters, but you can only use the harness up to 18kg.

ok will try to get her to stay on them, otherwise i'll go to grandparents which arent digital so dont need to wait!!
