Maxi cosi cabriofix, weight/height/age limit?

Would appreciate any advice if anyone knows the answer.....Our dd is just over 10 months old, is 19lbs, and fits the car seat very well, not up to the top of the seat at all yet. She is slim, and fits widthways too. I want to keep her rearfacing for as long as possible, will be getting a rear facing next, I checked the weight limit for the Cabriofix, and it is 13 kgs or 28lbs, she has put on that in 4 months previously - so could potentially be under the weight limit still at 13/14 months - question is, if she still is fitting into it comfortably, do I go by the weight, and move her as soon as she hits that? If this is over a year, do I then have to move her into the next size anyway, even if she has not reached the weight or height limit?

my lo is only 12kg at 2.3yo, so she could fit in it for a long while yet,
we changed him from the cabriofix as i found it aukward to get him in under the seatbelt (ours had to stay in the middle of car strapped in)
otherwise we would have kept him in it.

i kept my son in his until he was about 14 months- he was 10kg but his head was over the top and the straps hardly fitted him properly. i would keep your child rear facing for as long as possible. i actually started leaving it in the car and not carrying him in it as he got too heavy for me.

Brilliant, thanks, all, she is still fitting in well, is slim, think the height will be the thing which she will reach first, just got very confusing - looking for a rearfacing seat for the when she needs it even more so, so glad I have a while yet!

TRL childsafety - thanks, that was very useful. I will definitely be keeping her rearfacing, she is in the car with me every day for a 20 min motorway journey, accidents are horrible to contemplate but we want to get the safest seat we can.

Good to know we could have a while to save for a new seat anyway!

It makes me so happy to hear other parents talk about keeping their child rear-facing. I feel so strongly about this topic! My son is 11 months old and still fits in his Maxi Cosi Pebble but we have just purchased the Be Safe iZi Combi for the next stage (rear facing until 3 or 4 years).
