Nania Maxim

I've been given a secondhand Nania car seat which I think is a Maxim.
I want to wash it before using but can't get the cover off as the straps are stopping me. Also I can't work out how to detach the seat from the base in order to fit it in the car.
Any help much appreciated.
I need the seat to transport my niece's toddler as she is in and out of hospital and it's a long time since I've had to deal with babyseats. They've got more complicated in the last 30 years!

I would not use a second hand seat unless you know the history of it and have the instruction which you clearly don't. Can't you use the child's own seat?

the nania web site

If you are sure it fits in your car without moving and the buckle doesn't rest at an angle on the seat.

I wouldn't take the cover off unless you have the instructions as you will have to unhook the straps and if you get it wrong the seat won't work
