Best forward facing seat for VW Touran?

I've had my Touran for two months now and I'm really not happy with the way that the Britax seats fit on the very back row, they really look like they'll slide sideways although they don't seem to tip forwards iykwim. The Britax website says that a suitable fitting was achieved using this type of seat but I disagree.

Anyone else that has a Touran, please let me know what seats you use.

Many thanks.

Yes I know what you mean. I seems as if you are installing car seats much the same way that most people do. You shouldn´t be able to move the seats more than 1 cm side to side at beltpath. It does require some muscle to put seats in some cars

What seat do you have?

I have two Britax First Class SI (I think it's SI anyway!), I can't see how they will ever fit well sideways wise, the belt doesn't seem to hold them onto the seat well at all, I think it's the angle that the seatbelt comes down from its anchor point.

Unfortunately I've seen that no Maxi Cosi seat is suitable for the very back row so now I'm thinking I might have to try and get all three on the middle row which I can't imagine is possible, but you never know! I could use the passenger seat as I can deactivate the airbag but I'd rather have the front to my self!

I don't have a Touran, but I've always found the Kiddy Infinity Pro to fit well in almost any car, because the fitting is so different. I think they stock it in John Lewis now so they may have a display one you can try out.

I have a Touran and use two Maxi Cosi Tobi seats on the middle row, and can get a third seat in as well (when I take my niece). Can't recall what seat she has tho, will find out.

Why can't you use Maxi Cosi seats in the back?

lollipopmother · 12/10/2010 15:50

I haven't tried putting them in the back Penona because the Maxi Cosi website has a diagram that shows they only recommend the seat in the middle row. I really like the Maxi Cosi's as they are so easy to fit and the belt in like rock so I know they are a good fit on the middle, I might get a measure on it and see what size the third seat would have to be - thank you!

BertieBots Thanks for the tip, I've not heard of that make of car seat before so I'll take a look now, thanks!

The Britax First Class has an alternativ beltpath.

It should be suitable for this car.

The problem with fitting three forwardfacing seats across regardless of seat type, is getting your hands down to buckle up.
