Carseats from 9 months!

Hi, I would just like some advice on what the best Maxi-Cosi carseat is, from 9 months.

I have been looking at the Axiss and PrioriFix. Any advice on which one is better? Also I have the isofix base which i use with the current carseat (CabrioFix). Would I need a different isofix base or can you use the same one?

Many thanks :)

hi, i would keep your dc rf as long as possible, ie. 13kgs in the cabriofix or when their head reaches the top. if you need to change now as they are so yound maybe look at the mobi, it is maxi cosi and rf to 25kgs, although their are loads of other rf seats available.

have a look at the rf website for more info, www.rearfacing.co.uk

:)

Agree with above. Please look at rear facing website.

Another one here agreeing with above!

Someone said to me the other day "Rear facing is life saving" thought that was a good motto

+1 for using your Cabriofix as long as possible. When you do need to upgrade you won't be able to use the same isofix base with any other car seat. The newer Maxi Cosi base can be used with the next stage seat but the old one (that fits the Cabriofix seat) can't.

Hi, there is a new car seat that has just come out by Maxi-Cosi called the Opal, its apparently rear-facing for a lot longer, although it is a bit pricey, £220. i think this car seat keeps your DC rearward facing for as long as possible because of the angle it sits at.
I'd recommend the Maxi-Cosi Pearl for the next step up natie.

I'm with the others- have a look at that website - was all I needed to make the decision - 5 times safer rear facing- I'm going to keep my DS rearfacing until he's 4 if poss :)

Wish I'd read all this before getting the Maxi-Cosi Tobi. DS stayed rear-facing until 12 months in his Cabriofix, but was just too big for it.

I even went to one of the shops that apparently stock rearward facing car seats and asked advice, and they never mentioned these were available! This was just a few months ago too. Sad

IMoveTheStars · 12/10/2010 15:37

Don't get the Tobi, a lot of people have problems with their DC escaping from it.

In answer to your OP, I would specifically go with the Priorifix. We've had one for 2 years now and it's been excellent. It's got a very good recline on it and for long trips I put it right back in case DS falls asleep.

You can't use the same isofix base as the priorifix comes with it's own base.
