Car seats

Best car seat for a 3.5 year old

We've had a range of car seats in the past and now we need another one for a 3 1/2 year old child.

Not looking for bargain basement but I do have an underlying feeling that all car seat manufacturers are a rip off and I certainly won't be paying £1000 for one. Neither do I need a £25 one from Asda.

She's been good in car seats in the past but she is bigger now and last time I bought one it was for a smaller child so I thought I'd canvass opinion. Thanks.

Watching as I'm in the same position.

I think I want one that has it's own 5 point harness, but I also like those that can be reclined.

If you have issofix the britax kidfix is great because it is issofix it reclines and stays reclined and doesn't move when the children get in./ You also don't need to strap it in when the child isn't in the car. If your child still needs a harness they should stay in the one they are in as most of the seat remove the harness about the same height. If you don't have issofix I would get a britax one as they seam more comfortable when the child falls asleep. They do a few that do different things

We bought one like this which we're pleased with. The only downside is that when they fall asleep in these they tend to flop forward, but that's probably going to be the case with any in this class.

I have one like Izz2009's for DS!, we just got DS2 this one as the supports for the head come in tighter and is nicer if they fall asleep.
