Forward/Rear facing seat that fits a 3 door car

Can anyone advise me on a car seat in the 9+ kg category that would fit in the back of a poky old Toyota Corolla?

I have a very large 7 month old who as out grown his first seat but is too young to go into a forward facing one. None of the seats that are forward and rear facing in Mothercare will fit in my 3 door corolla.

The assistants in Mothercare were at a loss as there appears to be no seat suitable. My son's head is poking above his current seat and I'm really worried. Has anyone else had the same problem?

All advice appreciated.

Lady in my road has a very small 2 door car and has this one not sure where you get it in the uk. Have seen her put her child in a few times he climbs on the seat she helps him in the straps him in.

i have had a britax two way elite and a KISS in the back of 3 door cars-the smallest a clio. when ds was tiny i would get into the back with him and now he's older he climbs in and i just have to strap him in.

speak to the incar safety centre at milton keynes they may well be able to help you, where do you live?

Mothercare is not a great place for car seat advice tbh.

Certainly will try some of these, thanks for the suggestions. What's the incar safety centre? We live in Stoke.

there is in in car safety in essex that will give advice over the phone and do not sell seats-they are really helpful, speak to either cathy or vicky. their numbers can be found on the rf website www.rearfacing.co.uk under road safety officers.

or there is one in belfast or milton keynes that sell the seats. www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk
