Please help me on whether to have covid jab, following breast cancer surgery.

I've only had covid once in my life as far as I know and it wasn't too bad. I had a lumpectomy a fortnight ago for breast cancer, grade 3 IDC and struggling a little bit with the itchiness but nothing too bad really.

Noticed today I have quite a painful sore throat. Like I really won't enjoy eating much for tea because each mouthful will hurt to some degree. I've booked a covid jab for this Tuesday but now wondering if I should cancel it if I've now got a cold-type virus brewing. ( For context my husband calls me a hypochondriac but I'm fine with that, seems to help me to do all the research etc)

Any views or comments would be wonderful thanks. Shall I just get on with it or wait til I know the sure throat doesn't amount to anything? Many thanks :)

I had my flu jab yesterday (fit and healthy 50+ woman) and was asked if I was well before it was given.

Having a vaccination whilst fighting a virus is never advised. The flu jab (and covid, I believe) are not live vaccines but let your body do one job at a time. Wait until this cold has gone and then get the vaccine.
