Need a handhold- Possible Uterine cancer one year after finishing breast cancer treatment - right in the middle of moving

Exactly two years ago - I received a diagnosis of her 2 pos breast cancer, had a left side mastectomy, chemo and treatment with Herceptin.
Finished this last summer and slowly recovering ..

Id had heavy periods since they came back after chemo (I’m on Rivaroxaban which doesn’t help) but they’d been horrendous , two weeks long and flooding through clothes, my ferritin which has been low for years , couldn’t get above 4 .

my oncologist referred me to gynae and a year later the appointment came through (June this year ) In the meantime , in the October my oncologist agreed for me to go on the lowest dose possible of hrt patch as my menopause symptoms were horrific - and to try and regulate the bleeds which were happening every six weeks . This was agreed for a max of 18 months only .
I had a scan in September last year showing normal endometrium and a simple cyst on the left which resolved .

gynaecologist told me he knew nothing about menopause and would refer me to the menopause clinic , he arranged a scan and an appointment for a hysteroscopy.

I had the scan on 16th July , Radiograoher was very brusque and wouldn’t tell me much, said I had a tiny cyst that was potentially a dermoid cyst on my left ovary , but that she couldn’t determine what it was as it was so tiny and needed a second opinion , when pushed she said my womb lining was 7mm which was on the border of what they were happy with.. she then ushered me out and said “someone will be in touch”

Ive heard nothing since and last week my hysteroscopy was cancelled as I was leaving the house, I wasn’t concerned.. I moved house two days later to a home we’ve bought four hours away near all my family and as my heavy bleeding seemed to have resolved and my ferritin had nicely risen to 68 I thought there was nothing to worry about.

This week we are back to our old area tying up loose ends and to collect my daughters gcse results ..

yesterday I had a call from the gynae secretaries to book me in for an urgent hysteroscopy and biopsy , I explain I’ve moved and said as I’d heard nothing re the scan , I assumed all was normal , she then says .. err no your consultant has referred you urgently on the cancer pathway as abnormalities were seen on your scan .

Ive been unable to get any further, there are no appointments for this biopsy for two weeks , when I’ll be four hours away, I’d only just started registering with a gp in the new area, no one will tell me the scan findings and I’m terrified now that I’m going to have to try and register with a new gp, get an appointment and then an urgent referal to a new hospital and I’ve no idea logistically how long this will take .
I can’t believe that four weeks after having the scan I’m being told I may have cancer (again) 😢

I am sorry.
I thi know you should contact the gynae secretary team, e plain and ask them to help you with the next steps of cutting through admin hell.
Also contact the new and old GP team and hopefully theres someone who can co-ordinate a plan.
If you get really stuck PALS and your MP to get them shifting.

I am sorry you have this landed on you. I've had 2 separate cancers and found the second diagnosis mentally awful to deal with. Get your support team around you. Start a thread or get help in the cancer chats on MNet. Sending you UnMNetty hugs and determination x

Thank you 🙏
Im so sorry you r been through this twice, this is definitely hitting me harder
Potential new gp can’t help, it’s in wales which makes things worse , they are telling me they can’t guaruntee they can even accept me on their list but I have to fill out the forms and wait , I’ll need to go in person when I’m back up there .
Current gp not interested as they didn’t make the referal and don’t have eyes on any of the scans etc .Ive put a complaint into PALs and a SAR for my notes , I can’t believe I’m having to do this, it could delay any potential treatment by months and months 😟

I am sorry you have all these problems to contend with.

You need to be dealt with in your new area. Can you download all the relevant correspondence from the NHS app and take it along to a local GP?

TheOriginalSpacecadet · 18/08/2026 20:50

There’s nothing on the NHS app this is the issue , the scan results haven’t been uploaded as they were organised by hospital and not the gp.
I have nothing to take to a new gp except the original referal letter from my oncologist saying im
having heavy periods, it was a routine referal and took a year to get an appointment

I also need to register with a gp and wait for confirmation im accepted then go in and beg for an urgent appointment.. the NHS in North wales is shocking and gp surgeries are appalling so I don’t fancy my chances .
