Basal cell carcinoma - help?

I've got a spot on the side of my nose that I've had over a year. I got checked by the gp and referred to dermatology who think it's a BCC. Obviously hearing the cancer word is scary but what I've read is that these are pretty treatable? I've been referred to the surgery team and just feel scared. Anyone who's gone through this do you have any advice or guidance?

I've had 2 removed. One I couldn't even see but it was during a skin check in Australia (they're pretty hot on skin checks there). Second was after a skin check in London.

All ok. They are pretty common.

I have had 4 removed from my face, cousin had her first removed last week. All ok. Going forward do wear sunglasses and spf 50 at all times as you may now get others as you are prone to them

So DP has had the biopsy and as it’s healing he is he can see a black bit in the middle of the spot. So is sure that it’s a bcc. Now he’s panicking at the next steps. It’s on his face next to his nose, so I can see why he’s worried. Also it’s a scary thought in itself to have a bcc. The derm has been so vague and just keeps saying wait and see. He has another apt in 3 weeks for results.

I had BCC on my nose too. Cut off under local. No further treatment required. The scar has gradually faded.

I don’t thing BCC are anything to be worried about.

how big was it prior? DP is a red spot looks a little like a small red boil x
