What to expect? Brain mets

A family member has melanoma that has now metastasised to the Brain. She had a bleed last week as a result of the mets. What can we expect? Has anyone been through this?

Wishing you well at this time. I hope when it's my time, I go to a hospice, they are very good usually at managing this stage, and I feel that for the person, it's a safe and caring place to be. It doesn't make it easy for you, as you are losing them, but they are having sleep and rest and chocolate and that is at the end what we would all love to have!

Mum (80) had primary breast cancer diagnosed (already stage 4) in December 2019 then developed leptomeningeal mets in November 2021. She was given a poor prognosis and we were told to get my brother over from Oz asap as she may not be around in January when his visit was planned.
She died on mother's day 2022.

She only had 4 weeks of illness during the 2 and a quarter years since she was diagnosed. She was fortunate and responded really well to immunotherapy it gave her 2 years of good quality life which vastly exceeded her initial prognosis of 6-12 months for which I will be eternally grateful.

Just an update, my Godmother passed away peacefully today x thank you for all your words of comfort and support over the past few weeks 🙏

So sorry for your loss. Your godmother was obviously very much loved and had a peaceful passing. I hope that brings you some comfort in your grief x
