My husband has been told he has upto a year to live. How do I prepare my kids 8&12 that their dad is going to die? My husband is 45 and he won't see his 47th birthday. My heart is broken but how do I prepare my children when I can't prepare myself 💔💔

So sad to read this post @catherinewales

I’ve used this charity in the past and they’ve been fantastic and even if you don’t live in the area, they have some excellent resources

Hope this helps

This happened to me. My children's school was incredibly helpful and supportive. I would start there and go and see them.

They organised counselling in school before my OH's death and on afterwards. And set up a network of support for my son.

Sending you courage, energy and love.

I'm sorry - I was in the same position except my children were teenagers. Our McMillan nurse was an angel and I'm sorry yours is not more helpful. Marie Curie has a helpline so maybe give them a call.
I have to say it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do - I'm sending you my love and best wishes

This is a charity quite near me. I know a family where the Mum died, 4 young kids left without a Mum. The Dad got a lot of support from the charity. livingon.org.uk/
