How long after a biopsy do you have to wait for the results

I've been referred to a gynaecologist for a womb biopsy that will be taken tomorrow.

My GP referred me after a discussion about menopause, I had a womb scan and they've now referred me for a biopsy because they've found thickening in the wall of my womb.

It's all been really quick and I can't fault the NHS, but I'm wondering how long people had to wait for the results? Plus if it's all clear do you get a letter or phone call or do you always get asked back for another consultation?

2-3 weeks seems to be standard. I believe you normally come in for a face to face.

Hi. Do you mind me asking the outcome of this? Same has happened to me today. I'm waiting for the appointment. I hope you're OK.

@AnxiousD thanks for asking, it was all clear with no further follow up required. Can't fault the nhs throughout the entire process. Fingers crossed for you and I hope it all goes well
