Hello,

I work from home, very flexibly, and just email my hours in when necessary. I have been on mat leave so haven't been in contact for more than half a year.

I've worked a few hours now so need to email them in. My point of contact in the business was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. They had a relatively small operation and now found it's spread. I know all of this because I have family members in the same business, they are friends with this person.

I don't know how to word my email. I don't want to ignore that this person is going through this terrible situation, but don't want to go over the top, or just breeze over it.

My emails are usually a very brief - here are my hours, hope you're well (in either order). Thanks. Type of thing.

Obviously, I know they are not "well". Could anyone help please?
I apologise if the post alone is insensitive.

Hi ....
Here are my hours.
Sorry to hear you've been having such a difficult time. I'll be thinking of you?
