Hi can anyone help?
I had breast cancer (estrogen receptive) 10 years ago at age 40. I'm going to be 50 this year and have now definitely entered peri menopause. I'm a single mum of two teenage boys and I'm suffering from extreme mood swings, severe anxiety, depression, exhaustion and weight gain/ inflammation. I'm struggling with the energy to work (teacher) and to be a good parent to my boys - I go between yelling at them and over compensating for being such a lunatic! I've tried taking Sertraline - it helped me be calmer but I piled on the weight and I didn't really feel that good taking it - it seemed to make me less sparky and fun. However, I'm now feeling absolutely dreadful again just exhausted and very grumpy. Has anyone found anything that's helped to improve energy and mood through perimenopause/ menopause - I think the advice is still that cancer survivors can't take HRT?

Ask to be referred to a menopause specialist- I was taking hrt before my breast cancer and it was really useful to talk about options Also am taking tamoxifen which has tipped over menopause so things are easier. Finally I have been doing mindfulness on an app called insight timer - am a teacher too and find 10 mins or so after school really helps
