Anywhere to camp near Bromley/ Sidcup?

Hi there, my girls are doing a ballet in Bromley over the summer hols (3 weeks, Tues-Sat) and it's a bit far for us to travel each day. We don't have the money for proper accommodation so I've been looking for campsites. However, I can't find anything within about 15-20 miles (which can take a long time in Greater London). Surely somebody holidays there?

Does anyone know of anything? Any campsites which take tents, however basic? Or anyone know anyone who is happy to hire out a patch of field etc?

Theres a site at Crystal Palace which is pretty decent, thats the closest and very good for public transport if you want to leave car on site.

There is also a site at Abbey Wood, but think that would be more of a pain to get to Bromley every day, especially by public transport.

There is a scout camp in Bromley - not sure if they rent any sites out there though.

Try Beckenham - easy to get to Bromley on the bus.

I live in bexleyheath and take in foreign students, if you let me know your dates I may be able to help you out. I am quite booked up through the holidays though, so if your interested let me know. Abbeywood campsite is a really nice camp site but not easy to get to where you want to go, not impossible, just not direct.

Just to clarify the Crystal palace site does take tents and is adjacent to the park so in nice quiet location despite being off very busy main road as you would expect for london.

The 227 Bus will take you from Crystal Palace direct to Bromley and runs every 10 mins
