Hi we'll be on holiday in Surrey this summer and wondered about nipping across to France for a couple of nights. We'll bring a tent and don't want to drive too far or spend too much. We've 3 kids 8,2 and 10months. Anyone know of a nice site with a pool?

Where will you sail to and from?

You could have a look on the Vacansoleil website that's what I intend to do. I found a site near Quimper for 3 nights over the August bank holiday for about £40 for a family of 4.

I'm not sure,
I thought Dover-Calais would be the most direct route as we'll be in surrey.
I'll check out vacanc website. Some of the Keycamp/Eurocamp sites on here look fab but I'm not sure if you can just pitch a tent. Probably not.

There is a fab site just about 20 miles from calais, a lot of people use it for two or three nights at the end of the holiday or begining - but soem stay a week or more.

they have a childrens club and a swimming pool and it is really nice

Thanks Ivy that looks perfect for us.

It's not in Brittany, though. Pas-de-Calais is in Eastern france, Brittany is the North Western-most corner.

Is it Brittany specifically you're after or just more generally France?

Apologies for hijacking your thread Maybee, but I just wanted to let you know I replied to your post on the translation thread here - but several days later so I wasn't sure whether you'd seen it. (Hope you see this post!)
