I need to find a campsite near Abergavenny at the end of July/beginning of August.

Preferably with nice toilet/shower facilities and a playground.

I have found a couple online, but would appreciate personal recomendations!

Llantony valley, N of Aber, has a priory (abbey) and the farm there has a campsite. It's a wee bit basic and I don't remember a playground (we were kid-free last time I was there), but the ruined abbey/priory is great for kids to run around and has a lovely pub/hotel in the grounds so you can have a wee drink while the kids play castles. Plus the farm does pony trekking (no idea how old your kids are...)

Thanks zip, you've won my DD over with pony trekking and the ruined abbey sounds fab too, am off to google for details

I stayed in a cottage in Llantony, right next to the Priory. It's beautiful there.
