Am gearing up for first proper camping trip. Have lists. And boxes to pre-organise self according to Monica-like tendencies. Friend wagged her finger at me today and said sternly "I hope you've remembered seam sealer".

Eh??? Wha.....?

And while I'm here, do tin mugs get too hot to hold? (dim)

I think she's trying to scare you, or else her last camping trip was with the girl guides 25 years ago. Modern tents don't need it.

my camping must haves...a bucket. ( for piddling in at night) or for carrying washing up, or for little ones to play with water in if it gets hot. a few pegs. a torch, camping light, or make do with tea lights in jam jars. a corkscrew. And a credit card incase it all goes wrong and you need to go to a B&B.

tin mugs do get hot. on the other hand they are indestructible. It's nice to take nice mugs and glasses if you think you can manage without breaking them. a bit of luxury helps sometimes!

Enjoy yourselves!

Phew thanks Lauree maybe she has a 1970's tent!
Am thinking I might not go for tin mugs, if there is something hot in the vicinity I WILL burn myself on it!

We certainly have needed seam sealer for modern tents. We have had drips from where the stiches are. You can buy roll on ones from camping shops and as long as the tent is dry you can roll it on in situ.
