Home from first camping trip - best bed for DHs dodgy back?

Newbie happy campers just returned from a (very) local 2 night trial run with new tent, had a great time, but need to make a few tweaks:-

When we got the tent we hurriedly bought an Outwell double airbed which I thought would be OK for us both (already had a single knocking about for DS). There was too much bouncing about whenever either of us moved, and then we ended up rolling into the middle. DH had a terrible first night (maybe the airbed was inflated too much?), second night not as bad but he thought any more than 2 nights would kill his back completely.

So - recommendations please, having searched camping forums/here people have been going for a Coleman Double Comfort airbed or the self-inflating jobbies, but I really need something that suits DH the most.

Also, DS didn't sleep well as he kept rolling off the airbed, falling out of the sleeping bag and struggling in the dark to get back in again. Would a ReadyBed be better?

We are off again in 2 weeks time!

jodee can you let me know how you get on with them/how firm they are etc? I would love to know!

Get an 'Anywhere bed'. Brilliant for camping. Lakeland have them. Pricey but oh SO worth it.

Poppyboo, am happy with the dozers (at least on the living room floor!) took an absolute AGE to inflate, had to give them a bit of puff and roll the air into the feet section to let more air into the head end, but I think this is just because they are factory squashed, as I deflated one and it reinflated pretty quicky again.

DH seemed to think it was OK, but he only laid on it for 5 mins!

Proof of the pudding will be this weekend in Weymouth, at least it going to be a hot one!
