Do we have to stay for a week??

I found a nice campsite and tried to book for two nights in August but they are not accepting bookings for less than a week.

Is this the norm? Will we struggle to get a two night stay?

We haven't camped since pre-DC's so we wanted to just have a short taster session to see if we could hack it!

I only started camping last yera but can only cope with 3 nights at a time - we've never yet had a problem booking just a few nights. Perhaps they have a policy of a week minimum during school holidays? Is it a fairly big campsite?

Yes, it looks like it's probably quite popular - good reviews and extensive facilities. I suppose I'll just have to keep looking!

It will only be because it is a popular campsite and they don't want to lose a weeks booking because someone has the pitch for less.It is rather like holiday cottages offering a few nights in low season-they won't do it in high. Keep trying-you will find somewhere.

I've seen places that say they only take bookings for a week or longer in the school hols - that is only advance bookings though, they will take you for less nearer the time if they have space.
I guess it just depends if you are happy to go more last minute.
