How on earth do I choose which camping stove to buy?

I know nothing about them, all I know is we need a double burner (we're a family of four)...it so confusing with all the different fuels etc etc
Does anyone know of a comparison website anywhere with pro's and cons of different stoves that can be bought in the UK?

No idea if there is a comparison site sorry.

If you go onto ukcs and use their search function (it's a bit bobbins compared with the one here) you have to specify what topic your search in, look in camping and caravaning equipment then you'll be able to look at threads about specific stoves.

We have the camping gaz campkitchen 2 burner jobby (no grill) and I think it does the job just fine.

I have no idea how you compare them ... but ... we are using my parents' 30 year old Camping Gaz cooker with two rings and a grill. I'm guessing it's similar to slubber's, but with a grill.

It saw about 10 years' service for family camping holidays and then endured 20 years storage in their loft. It is still in perfect working order, reliable and easy to use. And I note that the current Camping Gaz cooker is almost identical in design, so if you want something that will give you many years' service, that may be the one to go for!

I've just bought a Campingaz Camping Kitchen Extra after doing a lot of research. I started a thread on the UK Campsite website (the yellow one) I can't do the link as I'm on my work laptop and it won't let me access the blog part of that site. I think the Aldi one is about to go on sale, I have a friend who has that one and strongly recommends it.
