Can anyone recommend a good campsite on the isle of wight, family (we have two girls 2 and ) and dog friendly? Looked at Orchards, Appledurcombe Gardens and Grange Farm (Grange Farm looks good but windy!). Thanks.

Don't know if it's dog friendly (am sure it would be) but I'd recommend Adgestone every time. Went last year (first time) and absolutely loved it - we're going back again in August. If you look it up in the Camping & Caravanning website, it gives you a really good overview of the site, and pictures too. (Pool is lovely!) HTH

Grange Farm is lovely but does get extremely windy at times, we had to hold our tent down during one storm and many tents around us were flatttened.

A really great one is Carpenter's Farm here We went for 2 weeks last year. It was fab! It's simple, with only a small playground for the children so not good if you want swimming pools and entertainment, but it's so friendly and has everything you need.

I can recommend Orchards. Really lovely site with good facilities and a nice pool.

i would go for electric if i visited the orchards again - even if you don't need it. the standard pitches are either next to a cockeral that crows pre dawn or a long walk from the toilet.

we go to whitefield forest. v child friendly, we have three under 4, seen people with dogs and theres electric if needed. its v v clean. going again this year.
