OK, OK - I know it's not real camping, but I'm horribly excited!

Dp's got a busy weekend in a few weeks' time so I'm taking ds's up to the Lake District for such delights as the Galactic Emporium (a must for any Star Wars fans), followed by a look in every trashy toy shop in Windermere, then off to one of the National Trust campsites for a night in a camping pod.

So, no putting the tent up on my own and a cosy night with the boys.

I've never stayed in one before, so please don't tell me they're hideous/full of spiders..!

What's a camping pod? I'll bet they're full of spiders!

Is it one of these? It does look lovely! And it must be fine if it's in the Guardian!

DottyDot · 03/06/2010 18:18

yes it's one of those!!

Can't do spiders though - at all - and for some reason we don't seem to get any in the tent - but I bet they'll love a wooden camping pod...

Dot, you have two boys, don't you? You do know the reason for having boy-children is that they are very good at picking the spiders up by their dangly legs and putting them outside. This is the sole reason that I continue to feed and clothe ds1. Otherwise he'd have been down the mines by now!

I wish..! Ds1 isn't too bad but unfortunately ds2's like me - which is annoying as I've spent all their childhoods not shrieking every time I see one, but being horribly brave - whilst getting dp to deal with them immediately..!

So, I'll just have to find a fellow camper to remove them - and take the shame...

my boys take pleasure in my spider shrieking! I am worse as I also have a fear of Daddy-Long-Legs and moths. (And yes, I know it's irrational!)
