Having been hardy basic campers in the past we now have sold our souls to the manicured caravan park type site - at least until the kids are bigger...

Need: Up north or Peak District, decent washrooms & laundry, playground & shop on site or walking distance.
Park Cliffe, Knight Stainforth all look fab but would really like to be able to walk to at least a small village or town.

Went to Vale of Pickering site last week which ticked all our boxes and was lovely but had to get in car everytime we wanted to go somewhere.

Greenhills in Bakewell??
Golden Valley looks lovely near Ripley but think stuck with same problem.

Think my main problem is I am too choosy and always looking for the perfect hol - being fair, Vale of Pickering was pretty near perfect.

Top?

Am thinking about a weekend there in the summer although I know it will be packed and i will just moan!! The DSes will love it though!

Knights Stainforth is fab - beware of the midges though as it spoilt our weekend last year. There's a pub within walking distance and a shop almost on site, but not much else.

Cheers - looks nice.
Have loads of hols & kids pre schoolers so next planned trip is midweek late June - shouldn't be very busy.
Had the camping field to ourselves last week - gonna be a nasty shock when we have to do school hols...
