We our taking our 6 month old DS camping over the bank holiday weekend and was just wondering if anyone has any tips that might be useful. We will be taking the travel cot which he has slept in before but I am quite worried about him being cold.

Any help gratefully received!

Hi there we took our son camping when he was about the same age and if your travel cot is off the ground (has legs and is not one of those pop up jobs) he'll immediately be warmer because most coldness comes into tents through the ground. We took lots of thin layers / blankets and an all-in-one made out of fleecy material and just checked him every so often, which you will probably be doing if he has night feeds still anyway?

Saying that, the second night he was in our double blow-up bed with us anyway cos he wouldn't settle cos of teething, so he had the added extra benefit of all our body warmth so we stripped him off to what he would normallly wear to bed.

Hope you have fun, we're off next weekend so we are hoping the weather stays good!
