Hi - just wondered if there were any tent folks around who were members of the CCC? I picked up a leaflet in Towsure yesterday & wondered if it's worth it for campers or is it more geared towards the caravanners?

Many thanks

I'm a caravanner in the CCC and I often think that campers get a better deal out of it than us caravanners ! The magazine doesn't feature caravans much but loads on tents and camping. It doesn't bother me though cos I'm in the Caravan Club too.

We're members. We only joined as it made it more cost effective to stay on a site last whit BH.
tbh we haven't used any more of their sites yet. I tried booking one for a week in the summer hols and gods the online booking thing was so utterly incomprehensively bobbins I flounced off in a huff and booked on another site.

I'm hopeful we might do the odd 1 or 2 nighters over the summer in their small no frills sites.

I like having the car sticker though.

We are tent folks and members of the club.

You get discounts on C & C sites and also on Forest Holiday sites (within the Forestry Commission estate). You also get a huge book listing every campsite in Britain.

I would say it is definitely as much about camping as about caravanning.

We're joining this year as staying on one of their sites over Whit - we worked it out and it will cost us £3 to join for a year (as you get members' rates), so we thought why not? Not going to join till we pay the balance though so we get May-May rather than Feb-Feb when we booked the pitch.

Our friends have been members for a few years and have definitely had their money's worth. There are a couple of sites they return to year on year, so we figured we'd try it for a year and see. We're going to Boroughbridge C&CC site for Whit, and fancy a weekend in the Scarborough one as not too far away. None of the club sites took my fancy in Cornwall though, which is a shame as we like to have our long holiday down there.

I've just joined las tweek, have a campervan not a caravan or a tent.

I think the benefit is all the campsites, especially the little CL sites which only have a small number of pitches. I guess some of these you couldn't use if you don't have your own loo. We stopped in one last weekend which did have a loo, only cost £5 and was lovely. I think there are lots that do have toilet facilities. So I think it is worth joining.

Well I am biased as my letter is in this months edition and wins star prize PMSL (answers on a postcard to what does a family of six do with a tiny one bedrrom tent please.... )

We have been memebrs for about 5 years, we rarely go to their main sites now as many don't like the bigger tent we need atm, however our absolute favourite site in pembrokeshire is a club site and demands mekmbership now, and we get a discount on forest holidays, so0 our memebrship remains and when the tent was smaller we did like thir sites a lot.
