Bushbaby Nestegg and Vango nitestar

Has anyone used one of these whilst camping? DS will be 4 months when I go camping and I'm wondering if its worth getting one.
I have the bigger versions of the Vango Nitestar Sleeping bag for DS1 and DD and wondered if the baby one would be worth getting or would his normal sleeping bag and a blanket be enough?

We just took our normal travel cot and it worked fine. Actually at 4 months i would consider using pram carrycot if this is an option? We had to get DD2 to sleep in her pram and then t/f to her cot due to light issues she wouldn't settle on her own

We used a pop-up cot when we went to America and DD2 was great in it (7 months) but i would suggest it won't have a long life. If you can get second hand then maybe worth it.

Re sleeping bags i just used normal sleepsuit, fleece sleepsuit and then normal grobag and DD was fine

Thanks Crispy. Did wonder if Grobag would be fine. I would probably worry too much with the 'real' sleeping bag.
I don't have a pram carrycot. The thing I like about this Bushbaby one is that I can unzip the side and sleep next to him without too much trouble, whereas in a normal travel cot I cannot. I suppose that with the travel cot it could be warmer as it is off the ground.

What we did the second time of camping was to put two thermarests down and covered with a fitted double sheet. DD2 (10 months i think) then slept on this and DH or I could go in and lie with her if she woke as that was the only difficulty with the travel cot

I too would worry too much with normal sleeping bag. DD2 will be almost 2 this year when we camp and i am still nervous about putting her in a junior ready bed which is what DD1 uses

Is this eventually my excellent excuse to invest in a Thermarest or Fat Airic
